Cheers to Donnelly Rhodes

My deep thanks go to Soap‘s Dutch Leitner, actor Donnelly Rhodes, for sharing his Soap memories with me yesterday, as well as his thoughts on the acting profession overall. Let me say right off that the little dribs and drabs on IMDB and other places online don’t begin to explain just how seat-of-the-pants Mr. Rhodes’ career was when he began.

Incidentally, for those who haven’t had the opportunity to see him in arguably his most popular role to date, check out this scene with Rhodes playing Det. Leo Shannon in Canada’s Da Vinci’s Inquest. If you’re in the U.S. and have access to Netflix, the first season of this gritty crime drama is available on its streaming service. (The clip above will give you a taste of what to expect.)

  1. You must add his name to the list of cast members you’ve spoken to, on the left side of the screen. 🙂

Did she share thoughts on the elusive Ms. Salt? 🙂

Side note- Barbara Rhoades nbow is on “One Life to Live” in a recurring role. We only heard her voice at first, but as soon as I heard it, I recognized it as Maggie Chandler. 🙂

  2. Thanks for reminding me, Jim — it completely slipped my mind. And no, no word on the elusive Ms. Salt, though I just this moment finished firing off an email to the Writers Guild about that very subject! Barbara Rhoades is also on my list. Whew, tracking these folks down is a job in itself.
